I believe in miracles - I prayed for fine weather this weekend and it came! I'd been planning a BBQ for this Saturday but the weather didn't look like it would give in. It had been pouring down with rain all week (& last week) but when I opened my curtains on Saturday morning (BBQ day hehe), the skies were blue!! It was a beautiful day & the BBQ went well. "Try me, says the Lord...!!"

I went on the "Beginning Experience" weekend earlier this year, after having been immensely upset with God for a few years owing to my marriage break-up. It was a turning point for me, and I realised it was me who was not allowing God into my life, not the other way around!
I came away with the feeling that God is a personal God, if that makes sense, and that He is there for me whenever. I've begun to ask him outloud for simple, small things, and it works. I asked him yesterday to find me a way of meeting someone who would pray with me, and I found Katherine's email today, it's a start, isn't it? |

That makes perfect sense Myriad. At the beginning of the journal that I kept in the months preceding my early retirement, I put this quote:
"God is love, the incredibly gentle, tender, gracious and generous God. Emmanuel, God within us amd among us..." ( fom "In search of a Way" by Gerry Hughes. ) I have long been grateful that Jesus said that we are of more value than many sparrows, as there are a lot of them around still, and seeing them reminds me. Had he said ostriches, we should have had to go to a zoo ( in some parts of the world). Best wishes, Jenny |
