Terms & Conditions

Introduction

1. We are friendsfirst. These are the terms and conditions ("T&Cs") which apply to the CRE speed dating events. Please read them carefully.

Payment

2. The price shall be as shown on this website. This includes any applicable VAT. Payment is by credit card through our booking system or as otherwise specified.

Formation of contract

3. Your making a booking on our website constitutes an offer to us. A contract is created when we accept your application by sending you a confirmation email with your booking reference number. By booking this event you are registering your acceptance of our Terms & Conditions. You represent and warrant that you have the right, authority and capacity to enter into this Agreement and to abide by all of the terms & conditions.

4. By purchasing tickets and participating in this event you agree that neither friendsfirst or its associates is liable for any damages, direct or indirect, that may arise from partaking in this event. This includes any damages, without limitation, arising out of communicating with other participants registered with CRE or friendsfirst. Such damages include, without limitation, physical damages, bodily injury and or emotional distress and discomfort.

Refunds, exchanges or returns

5. No refunds, exchanges or returns are available once we have sent you a confirmation email.

Booking reference

6. Your unique ID number constitutes your ticket. We are not obliged to replace it and so you must keep it securely. You must bring it with you to the event. Otherwise you may not be admitted.

7. You must not disclose or sell or transfer your unique ID to any third party. Any unique ID obtained in breach of this clause shall be void.

Description

8. We use reasonable endeavours to describe this event correctly but cannot guarantee that our descriptions are accurate in every respect. This may arise where, for example, we have relied on information supplied by third parties.

Cancellation or variation of event

9. We cannot guarantee that the event will not be cancelled or varied (by nature, date, location or otherwise). If so, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible by email to the address you specified when booking.

10. If the event is cancelled we will refund your payment in full using the same method of payment you used when booking. We shall have no other obligations in the event of cancellation or variation.

Matching

11. As a registered participant of this event you understand that friendsfirst offers an opportunity for meeting new people but friendsfirst does not guarantee that any participant will successfully match with another participant. friendsfirst does not guarantee that any successful match between two participants at this event will lead to a successful date subsequently.

12. friendsfirst aims to give single people a chance to meet one another in a safe and relaxed environment. However this is not a matchmaking event and we do not verify the personal details of those participating in this event. It is up to you to verify personal information to your own satisfaction and we recommend that you do so. Please approach any contact with participants at this event with the same caution you would undertake when meeting other people you do not know.

13. By participating in this event you are giving us permission to forward the email address you supplied during the booking to your "matches". A match occurs when both parties indicate they wish to see each other again by entering either a "yes" or a "friend" into our matching engine.

Your other obligations

14. You must not engage in any abusive, threatening, drunken, antisocial or other inappropriate behaviour.

15. You must comply with any request to provide proof of identity and age (including photograph and signature) and submit to security searches.

16. You must comply with any rules or regulations or requirements of the event venue or with reasonable requests by us or the venue owner or other contractor or agent of ours.

Admission / ejection

17. We reserve the right to deny admission or to eject you without giving any reason if we or the venue owner or other contractor or agent of ours consider in our or their discretion that you have engaged or will engage in inappropriate behaviour or otherwise breached these T&Cs. No refunds will be available in such case.

Liability

18. Nothing in these T&Cs in any way excludes or restricts our liability for negligence causing death or personal injury or for fraudulent misrepresentation or for anything which may not legally be restricted. Nor does it affect consumers' statutory rights.

19. This section (and any other clause excluding or restricting our liability) applies to our directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents and affiliated companies as well as to us.

20. Subject to clause 17 our liability of any kind to you and your party whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise in connection with this agreement is limited to ten times the fee payable by you for the relevant event.

21. Subject to clause 17 and without prejudice to the previous clause, we shall not in any event be liable for any economic or special or indirect or consequential losses.

22. Subject to clause 17, we are not liable for any matters that are beyond our reasonable control.

23. Subject to clause 17, you will indemnify us against all third party claims arising from the breach by you of this agreement.

24. This friendsfirst event is being held at a venue over which friendsfirst and its associates have no control. Therefore, in the event that you suffer damages of any kind at this event, you agree to release friendsfirst and its associates from any liability with respect thereof. friendsfirst reserves the right to change venue and timings of this event. friendsfirst can take no responsibility for the safety and security of your personal belongings whilst attending an event.

Personal data

25. We may process your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy.

26. You confirm that you have shown our privacy policy to, and obtained similar consent from, any third party individuals whose personal data you have supplied to us.

General

27. If any part of this agreement is deemed void or ineffective for any reason, the court may endeavour to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in that part and in any case the other parts remain in full force and effect.

28. This contract shall be governed by English law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

29. friendsfirst reserves the right to invite media to attend events.
