When you’ve been running a dating agency for 10 years like Katharine Gray from friendsfirst has, news of engagements and marriages between members is no longer surprising.
However when two couples – both called David and Heather - announced their engagements within 30 days of each other and announced their wedding day as 26th September 2009, Katharine was truly surprised.
The first David and Heather to announce their engagement come from Shropshire and Worcestershire and told friendsfirst their happy news in March this year. It was only as this news went out to all members through the friendsfirst newsletter and was read by the second David and Heather that friendsfirst learnt of the incredible co-incidence. David from Northamptonshire who is marrying Heather from Poole, wrote in saying:
“I was so amazed when I read your latest newsletter about another engagement. I met Heather last May and we got engaged on 2nd November and are busy planning our wedding on September 26th - the same day as the other David and Heather! It too feels such a blessing from God in bringing us together. Thank you for the part you played in that. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need any further info, Yours in Christ, David”
The two David’s and Heather’s join another friendsfirst couple getting married on 26th September, making five friendsfirst weddings in that month alone.
