MEMBERS IN HAMPSHIRE

People are sometimes reluctant to travel to Hampshire, as they dread travelling on the M25.  This was mentioned to us by Bill, but luckily it was Lois who contacted him and that led to a very happy ending.

Lois’s beloved husband died in July 2000 and her wonderful happy life ended- she was devastated.  She struggled with feelings of grief, numbness and emptiness and wondered ‘is this my life from now on?’ She belonged to a church, was a member of a choir, had good friends and a supportive family.  In 2002 she sent off for details of friendsfirst – half heartedly.  She joined and in April and June when she got her profiles she threw them in the bin thinking- “why a I doing this?”  When her profiles arrived in August Bill’s profile was included and for some reason she phoned him and they agreed to meet.  After their first meeting, a lunch lasting from 12 noon until 7.30, things moved very quickly. I et Bill’s son and daughter and all went well. When we told our families we were going to get married they were delighted and we married in March 2003.  Now I have a future with Bill and a grand daughter (Bill’s) aged 3 to watch grow up- she’s a treasure.

Advice from Lois and Bill for anybody hesitating about taking such a step - GO FOR IT!!! You have nothing to lose and maybe a whole new life to gain.
