MEMBERS IN COUNTY DURHAM

Country Durham doesn't provide us with hundreds of members but we have had a few and infact one of our earliest male members to get married came from here.

Charles was in his 30s when he joined friendsfirst and a key aspect for him joining was that the organisation was Christian.  He had also moved to the countryside and didn’t know many people there.  Charles was active in his membership and not too concerned about distance, so had been contacting many of the people they received details about.  By chance he wrote to Andrea and she to him at the same time - he immediately liked the sound of her.

When they met for the first time for lunch he knew immediately that ‘she was the one’.  They soon developed a strong friendship, started ‘going out’ and 6 months later he proposed.  They were married 6 months later and haven’t looked back since.

Charles thinks that using friendsfirst was a great idea (in fact many of their single friends have now joined as a result!) because as they say “there’s nothing to lose and everything to gain, let alone a lot of fun in the process.”
